The conical speaker is direct radiating, which radiates sound waves directly to the surrounding space through a cone-shaped basin. A complete conical speaker is mainly composed of a conical frame, a cone, a folding ring, a dust cover, voice coil, positioning support piece, pole core upper and lower clamping plate and magnets. Because the conical area of the cone loudspeaker can be made larger, and can reach a larger amplitude, therefore, the low frequency response of the cone loudspeaker can usually be made better.
For these reasons, the basic structure of cone loudspeakers is still leading among many loudspeakers with its unique and good low-frequency response, as various new dome loudspeakers, horn loudspeakers and ribbon loudspeakers continue to emerge, it’s playing a leading role in applications such as ultra-low frequency and full frequency bands.
The various parts of the conical speaker can be divided into three parts: vibration system, magnetic circuit system and auxiliary system according to their different functions.
1. The vibration system is composed of cone, centering support piece, dust cover and voice coil. The cone that has the greatest impact on performance, is a circular or elliptical cone-shaped diaphragm. Its root is rigidly connected with the speaker voice coil. When the voice coil vibrates vertically in the magnetic air gap, it will make corresponding axial movement to make the air before and after the cone, density changes occurred.
For the small speaker, the cone is the main sounding component of the speaker, which determines the effective bass rate range and distortion of the speaker to a certain extent.
2. The magnetic circuit system includes magnets, lower splints, pole cores and magnetic air gaps.
3. Auxiliary system includes basin frame and gasket, etc.
